The LED on the flash drive is always on, not sure if this is significant. However, based on the fact that the memory chip did not show a visible serial number I suspect this is a factory reject and will throw it in the garbage. If I kept the drive I would only store files, that I did not have other copies of, and use the 7Zip program to save files on the flash drives as it will detect data errors when reading data from the drive.
I bought the drive from eBay seller Pandachinchin, who is no longer a registered eBay member. There is a page on the sosfakeflash site with information about this seller, and helpful images of the drives he sold on eBay. My drive is pictured on the seller information page (see replies at the bottom of page for identifying marks of my drive): -ebay-fake-flash-seller-alert-hong-kong/
Thanks to the person on ebay who noticed I bought a flash drive from a suspected fake drive seller, who gave me a link to this website, which as soon as the drive came I tested it with the tools suggested here. It was a fake drive and I finally got refunded for it, all thanks to this website, absolutely brilliant! I am not afraid to admit that i got my money back, and got a 4gb flash drive which works perfectly after using the tool at THIS SITE. It is the sellers fault for selling a fake drive in the first place. I thought I was buying a 16gb drive.Anyway, this is a bad time of year, even worse if you get ripped off. If you do buy a fake flash drive then report the seller. Follow the helpful info from this site on how to report to paypal, and put the sellers name up on this website, it will help your case.A big thank you to SOSFakeFlash!!!! 153554b96e
