Andechs monastery brewery is one of the last real monastery breweries that has been run by a lively religious community to this day, completely independent of any group. The Benedictines of the St. Boniface Abbey in Munich and Andechs represent a special monastic brewing tradition. In this way, the beers can mature into a \"pleasure for body and soul\".
Andechs is a brewery based in Germany. It is ran by the monks of Andechs Abbey. It is to be believed that monks have been brewing beer there since before 1455, and continue to do so today. Many tourists come here as a day trip from Munich, it is 40 kilometers away, which is about a forty five minute drive.
Not only does the brewery provide beers to serve in their biergarten they brew beer to be distributed and sold all throughout Germany and the world. I have even found it a my local specialty grocery store.
Depending on the number of visitors, the beer garden is open on weekdays when the weather is good from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm and on weekends until 8:00 pm. The seasonal opening period depends on the weather but usually lasts from Easter until end of October or early November.
Untreated and bottled in its natural state of yeasty turbidity, this is a top fermented beer for the epicure. Distinctive fruity aromas like banana and honeydew melon come to the fore, followed by fine cloves. A tangy, refreshing treat with the conviction of a full, soft body.

The Andechser Hell, brewed according to the traditional multiple mashing process, impresses with a bright, bright, straw-yellow and glossy appearance. Its foam is stable and fine-pored. For the nose it has pure and cellar-fresh aromas, soft malt aromas, interspersed with floral hops tones. It is pleasantly tangy to drink and has a light and soft body. The mild sweetness combines well with a velvety-soft hop bitterness. In the finish it sounds round and harmonious - just a real classic Bavarian full beer.
Kim and Chang connected with Tied House early on, enlisting its director of marketing, Carolyn Hopkins-Vasquez. Hopkins-Vasquez, who has planned previous beer festivals, said that Oktoberfest is just the start of what she hopes will be a fruitful relationship with Steins and the community.
\"The main thing we want to do is establish our street, Villa Street, as a beer destination,\" she said. With Tied House, Steins and Jane's Beer Store, Villa Street is unusual, she added. \"I can't think of any other street in the area that has so much of a beer presence.\"
The 180-year-old original Oktoberfest, held in Munich from Sept. 21 to Oct. 6 this year, celebrates Bavarian culture with cold beer, traditional German cuisine, Oktoberfest games and traditional togs like lederhosen.
Andechs, or Kloster Andechs Doppelbock Dunkel, is renowned in the beer world and is brewed by Benedictine monks who have been making beer since 1455. Andechs Abbey and its 3,500-seat beer garden is a place of pilgrimage for beer-lovers, and the monastery's brew hadn't left Germany until recently: It was first poured in the United States this June.
Running parallel to the original celebration in Munich, many of these beers are currently on tap at Steins -- since Sept. 21, all 31 of the restaurant's taps were replaced with German beers. The German brews will be flowing until Oct. 6 or when they run out.
At the weekend Oktoberfest celebration, half- and one-liter steins will be on sale. There's no entrance fee; attendees can buy a stein for the day and then purchase drink tickets to try different beers.
Esther's Bakery is hosting its own Oktoberfest in Los Altos on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 1 to 5 p.m. with a buffet of sausages; pork roast with crackling skin; sauerkraut; potato salad; red cabbage and rotisserie chicken; special Oktoberfest beer ordered from Hofbrau in Munich; a live band; and a free pretzel for anyone who comes dressed in lederhosen.
Kim acknowledged Oktoberfest's reputation as a crazy, beer-fueled \"brawl,\" but said he wants to get away from that. There will be kids' activities, such as a bouncy house and an arts and crafts table. \"It's a community event,\" he said.
Info: Oktoberfest is planned from Oct. 5 and 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parking lot behind Steins Beer Garden & Restaurant, Bryant and Dana streets, Mountain View. The event is free, but attendees should RSVP online at mvoktoberfest.eventbrite.com/ or via the Evenbrite app. For more information, call 650-963-9568 .

According to the Bavarian purity requirement, which Herzog Wilhelm IV. established in 1516, only water, hops and malt should be used for the brewing of Bavarian beer. This purity law is in force until today and it shows the great meaning the Bavarians give to their beer since centuries.

It captivates the eye with its typical and distinctive chestnut color. The yeast cloudiness is opal and finely structured. A very creamy and fine-pored head of foam goes well with this . For the connoisseur nose, the dark wheat beer from the Holy Mountain has a harmonious interplay of fruit aromas, especially ripe banana and pineapple, with subtle tones of caramel and cocoa.
In 2007, two best friends dreamed up the first World of Beer in a little neighborhood called Westchase in Tampa, FL. What started as one of craft beers original bottle shops, has grown to be a gathering place for beer explorers & food lovers alike. So find great conversation, drink the best craft beers, cheer on your favorite team, and start making memories!
More than 100,000 locals commune with nature here on sunny summer days. The park stretches three miles from the center, past the university and the trendy Schwabing quarter. Just beyond the hilltop temple (walk up for a postcard view of the city), you'll find the big Chinese Tower beer garden and other places to enjoy a drink or a meal. A rewarding respite from the city, the park is especially fun on a bike under the summer sun and on warm evenings.
Beer gardens like this go back to the days when breweries stored their beer in cellars under courtyards kept cool by the shade of bushy chestnut trees. With the inviting shade and all that cool beer so handy, it was only natural that tables were set up, and these convivial eateries evolved. 59ce067264
